Trentham Easter Art & Craft Show – 2019 – Conditions of Entry
The Trentham Easter Art & Craft Show Committee advises the following conditions of entry:
Entry deadline: Submission of entry form and payment constitute acceptance of these conditions. Completed entry forms and payment must be received by The Trentham Easter Art & Craft Show Committee no later than Friday 5 April 2019. Non-receipt of payment and/or late or incomplete entry forms will not be accepted.
Changes to titles & sale prices: No changes will be permitted after the official deadline for entries.
Delivery of entries: All entries are to be delivered to the Trentham Mechanics Hall on Wed 17 April between 10am & 4pm (no rail-freighted or posted works accepted). Entrants will receive an Entry Receipt for delivered works.
Collection of purchased & unsold works: Unsold and purchased works must be collected on Monday 22 April,. A collection time between 4 – 6pm will be specified on the Entry Receipt/Purchase Receipt. The hard copy Entry Receipt/Purchase Receipt must be shown for collection, so if another person has been assigned to collect works on behalf of the entrant/purchaser, they will need to present the hard copy receipt as proof of ownership. Entrants will be notified if they have sold all their works.
Judging: Judging will commence at 10am on Thursday 18 April. Entrants cannot attend the judging. The Judges will award one prize per category. Should there be a minimal number of entries in a category, the Judges reserve the right not to award a prize. The Judges’ decision is final.
Entry fee: For adult entrants,the entry fee is $10 per exhibit., payable when submitting entry form. There is no entry fee for under 18 year olds. No more than three (3) works will be accepted from each entrant.
Two dimensional art works: Oil, acrylic, watercolour, drawing, mixed media, digital media and photography works must be suitably framed with name, address, title and category on the back of the work with wire and screws suitable for hanging. Unframed canvasses are acceptable. Two dimensional works over 100cm x 100cm externally will not be accepted. These conditions apply to both adult and junior entries.
Three dimensional works: Craft and sculpture/3D entries must be clearly marked or labeled with name, address, title and category. Framed works must have hanging wire or cord. Quilts must be no larger than 86” x 89” (double bed size) and have a 4” hanging sleeve. The Committee will endeavour to hang all quilt entries. However, depending on number and sizes of quilt entries, some may be displayed folded &/or draped over tables.
Large & heavy exhibits: Entries weighing more than 10kg will not be accepted. Entrants must make suitable arrangements for large and/or heavy exhibits to be transferred in/out of the hall.
Sales: All works by adult entrants will be for sale to the public and The Committee will deduct 20% commission from all works sold. Entrants under 18 years of age may nominate which, if any, of their works are available for sale. No commission will be deducted from sales of junior works. Cheques for sold works will be posted within 10 working days of the end of the show.
The Committee reserves the right to reject any entry.
All work must not have been entered previously in the Trentham Easter Art & Craft Show.
Entrants shall allow their work to be shown in the media.
The Committee will exercise due care of all works submitted, but will not be responsible for loss or damage of any work whilst in its custody (poor quality frames and inadequate hanging wires and scerew have been the main problem in previous show).. Insurance for works entered rests with the entrant.
